Dear Ed,

The Vista Data Execution Prevention programma is prohibiting me from running Safari web browser. It is even blocking MS Windows updates from running. I tried to turn DEP services off but I am barred from changing the settings. I tried the therapy prescribed by Microsoft with regard to updating trouble shooting, but it does not help. Do you know what I can do?

Thanks for your efforts

Jack

Sorry, but it sounds like you need more expertise than I have. You might try one of the sites at http://computerhelpers.wordpress.com/#advice with this problem.
