Windows 10 Fall 2018 update fix

Big problem for many installing the Fall 2018 update on Windows 10 – it may delete your personal files!

MyITForum has a fix posted.

“There’s been much speculation about what’s causing this, and at least one culprit has been located. This particular issue is a GPO/registry value at:

Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/User Profiles/Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart

This registry key needs to be Disabled or set to Not Configured before upgrading to Windows 10 1809.”

However, the post also recommends NOT upgrading until this bug is fixed, if you have an option.
